Yesterday I learned… about OKRs

Yes I know, I know this is trivial, or is it? Do you know exactly what this is and how to come up with one? Well I didn’t. And I still don’t, but have somewhat better understanding. Let me share that with you.

OKR: Objective and Key Results

This is actually a goal management framework to help execute a strategy.

An Objective is a goal you’d like to achieve, this is your destination where you’d like to get to.

Key Results can be metrics, milestones, signposts that tell you you are on the right track to achieve the objective.
This is something measurable. A KPI or some sort of a metric, an indicator. Which reflects the success or the failure of the direction you take to reach your objective.

What it doesn’t do is tell you how to get there.

The how to get there should be outlined in an initiative.
